Great ads for the new advertising show THE PITCH.

Nurse Jackie art direction + copywriting is just the right amount of wrong. It’s punny but you don’t dismiss it. It’s cliche but you appreciate the thought that went into it.
These El Segundo Police ads are getting better and better!
This recruitment campaign put prospective policemen in the rather uncomfortable shoes of officers even before they filled out an application to join the force.
I LOVE THIS COMMERCIAL.
The only thing more exciting than watching grass grow? Waiting for your ice cream to melt. This spot captures that torment. In a good way.
Clients who show up to meetings with guns. That was just one of the unique challenges Team One faced in launching a pro bono recruitment campaign for the El Segundo Police Department.
A very targeted campaign not only reached its target, it weeded out the 95% of people who lacked the skills needed to cut it in the E.S.P.D. Most amazingly, we used a medium you’d think law enforcement would frown on – wild postings

The Next Time You Cut Your Finger, Save a Life
Ten thousand people need bone marrow transplants each year to fight life-threatening diseases, but only half of them get one. Graham Douglas, who works at ad agency Droga5, came up with a unique solution to get more donors: Stick a sign-up kit inside a Band-Aid box. When people cut their finger and goes hunting for a Band-Aid, they can just dab some of the blood on a Q-tip-like swab, drop it in an envelope already included in the kit, and put it in the mail to the lab.
I saw these at Target. There’s a bunch like “Help, I have a headache” which gives you a few pills of acetaminophen and so on. I think it’s great. See more HERE.
The blood sample angle is genius.
With all of the praise I give on this blog, I have to include some criticism. I absolutely cannot stand this Citi Bank Card commercial. Its highly irritating because the song is horrible, and this woman is pretending to be so witty. Who is their target market? If I had to guess, it’d be “The Real Housewives” of America. What is your opinion?
OK, I HAVE to give it to Groupon for the best “Unsubscribe Process” ever. I get endless emails from them and I haven’t had the time for special fun, so I decided to unsubscribe. Firstly, they don’t do it until you click a small font that says unsubscribe.
Then it takes you to this page where you see what looks like a live cam of Derrick, where you can then click on “Punish Derrick” for sending you all those emails. Then you see a video of him getting punished. This is all so great! Try it! I think they want to make you so elated (as I happen to be) that you’ll resubscribe just because you appreciate their effort.
